The campus of MHH in Hannover’s Gross Buchholz district covers 400,000 square metres – more than 50 football fields. In the centre of the campus is the main hospital, surrounded by the Departments of Paediatrics, Gynaecology, Dental, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the Transplant Research Centre, the Hans Borst Centre for Heart and Stem Cell Research, the Paediatric Research Centre, other research and teaching facilities, the library, child daycare centres, residential and administrative buildings, and sports facilities. The Department of Orthopaedics is permanently located in the Annastift hospital.
In the coming years, the MHH campus will see the biggest construction project in the School’s history: The main hospital building, the central A&E unit and the surgical facilities, which are ageing, are to be rebuilt – at either the Stadtfelddamm or Karl-Wiechert-Allee sites, i.e. with close physical links to the campus.
