Allergic asthma is one of the most common chronic dieases. Our lab is interested in the cellular mechanisms of this disease. To further elucidate the role of specific cell subsets and receptors in immunological sensitization and tolerance, we analyze samples from our asthma patient cohort, employ murine models and make use of novel, innovative methods for cell characterization. Besides asthma, a second focus of our lab is the role of macrophages in rare lung diseases.
