Inflammation, Infection Biology, Immune Tolerance, Autoimmune Disease
Our laboratory explores novel regulatory themes of inflammatory responses from the vantage point of immune control against infection. The overall research goal is to identify molecular and cellular key mechanisms of inflammation, particularly as they relate to immunological tolerance and virus-induced inflammation, and to develop novel perspectives for clinical interventions. To pursue our studies, we follow a multidisciplinary approach, in which we combine cell biological, immunological and genetic methods with the use of animal disease models.
