In recent years it has become clear that the specific regulation of key metabolic processes such as glycolysis or mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) is of major importance for directing immune cell differentiation and function. In our lab, we are interested in the mechanisms through which pathogens (particularly mycobacteria) and commensals interfere with the host metabolic network to assure their persistence and manipulate immune responses.
