Clinical Infectiology

C L I N I C A L   I N F E C T I O L O G Y

With the appointment of Professor Welte, infectiology has become an integral part of the clinic. Aspects of basic research in pulmonic infections are  represented by Experimental Pneumology Department (Direction: Prof. Dr. U. A. Maus).

 

In the following text, we would like to describe the clinical and research focuses and activities in the field of infectiology in our clinic.

  • OVERVIEW

     

    The range of clinical and research services of clinical infectiology includes:

     
    • Non-CF-Bronchiectasis: bronchiectasis caused not by CF (synonym: cystic fibrosis, CF)


    • Cystic Fibrosis (CF) / Mucoviscidosis

     
    • Mycobacterial infections


    • Community acquired and nosocomial pneumonia, exacerbated COPD, viral respiratory tract infections


    • Sepsis / Intensive Care


    • Respiratory tract infections by immunosuppression / after transplantation


    • Biomarkers in respiratory tract infections
