Nanodrop ND-1000 Spectralphotometer
By use of the Nanodrop, nucleic acid concentrations ranging from ~ 10-3000 ng/µl can be recorded in 1-2 µl of sample without the need for a predilution. Furthermore, meassuring the absorption spectra at 550nm and 650nm enables to calculate fluorescence incorporations rates of the two cy-dyes (Cy3 and Cy5, respectively) of the amplified cRNA samples.

Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer
The Bioanalyzer serves to assess the quality/integrity of total RNA samples. In addition, the overall fragment length distribution of amplified cRNA samples can be monitored.

Agilent Hybridization oven
Labeled cRNA samples to be analyzed are hybridized to the selected microarray type within the Hybridization oven O/N. In total, 48 slides can be hybridized in parallel.

Agilent Microarray Scanner G2565CA
The Core Unit is equipped with an Agilent scanner G2565C with a maximum resolution of 2µm which allows automated scanning of up to 48 slides using arrays carrying up to 1 Million oligonucleotide probes per slide.

ABI 7500 FAST Real-Time PCR
Our real-timer cycler enables us to evaluate specific aspects of microarray data, or to deepen analysis e.g. regarding the expression of specifically spliced transcript variants. We routinely work with TaqMan-based assays from Applied Biosystems.
