Differentiation of pluripotent cells into hematopoietic stem cells |
Bernhard Schiedlmeier, Niels Heinz, Dietrich Lesinski, Birgitta Ehrnstroem, Sohila Schiedlmeier
Our research focuses on the use of a transcription factor, HOXB4, to trigger hematopoietic differentiation of pluripotent stem cells and enforce hematopoietic regeneration in vivo. Based on original discoveries of K. Humphries and colleagues in Vancouver, Canada, we focus on the analysis of gene networks and differentiation pathways controlled by ectopic expression of HOXB4. Thereby, we want to introduce novel approaches for the (re-)generation of hematopoietic stem cells and for the control of their expansion after transplantation.
