Coronary surgery

Operateure bei ein Koronaropoeration. Lupenbrille erforderlich, weil das Nahtmaterial so fein ist.

Treatment focuses at a glance

  • Minimally invasive techniques including off-pump revascularization, minimally invasive procedures like e.g. the magnetic anastomosis
  • Reconstruction of complex lesions of the coronary arteries
  • Use of arterial grafts inclusive A. mammaria interna and A. radialis
  • Bypass supply in case of acute myocardial infarct
  • Surgical radiofrequency ablation techniques in case of atrial fibrillation

In case of an obliteration or a stenosis of coronary vessels (blood supply of the myocardium), the bypass operation is the optimal therapy form for multitude patients.

The Department of Cardiothoracic, Transplantation and Vascular Surgery provides all opportunities of modern bypass surgery. In some cases we don’t even have to use the heart-lung machine for the operation. The minimally invasive bypass surgery, where only a small cut is being made at the lateral thorax, is also part of our surgical spectrum.

From the medical point of view, in contrast to many other clinics, we are able to operate also patients with acute myocardial infarction immediately and without delay. In this way we can minimize the progressive impairment of the myocardium instantaneously after the infarct.

Convincing results and low complication rates: Our ambition is to discharge the patient as soon as possible from the hospital home or into a rehabilitation clinic after consultation of the attending cardiologist.
