Midwifery is one of the world’s oldest professions. Parturitions are important events in every culture and pregnancy and childbirth are natural occurrences in a woman’s life.
In former times as well as today, midwives have attended to the course of normal pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum care.
Our goal is to cultivate, preserve and advance midwifery skills. Taking these tasks seriously, we are interested in providing the best possible care for parents.
The Hannover Medical School offers a European Master of Science in Midwifery. The course takes place mostly online. Applications for fall are accepted until July 15th annually for the ten spots available. For more details, please see Midwifery Study Course section.
