History and Previous Meetings:
The EASD Islet Study Group arose from discussions of participants of the islet meeting held at Coleraine 15-18 September 1991. Since this time, the Group has held meetings annually in close association with the main EASD Congress. Approximately 120 participants attend each meeting, which are of 2-days duration.

Membership:
Membership of the Study Group is open to all persons actively working in islet research. Current membership of the Group stands at 350 and includes more than 100 laboratories undertaking islet research.
Members are drawn from many countries, including: Argentina, Bangladesh, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Japan, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, UK and USA.
