The Hannover Medical School (MHH) was founded in 1965 and is today a clinical center of the supramaximal medical care. In no other university hospital in Germany are as many critically ill patients being treated as in the 18 medical centers on the MHH campus.
The Department of Cardiothoracic, Transplantation and Vascular Surgery of MHH has been launched in 1969 by Prof. Dr. Hans G. Borst. Today under the direction of Prof. Dr. Axel Haverich the department is integrated in a network of excellent clinics of the MHH.
The intensive cooperation of various consolidated medical disciplines is the basis for the comprehensive and first-class patient care of the MHH. Only due to this cooperation multidisciplinary therapy concepts are possible, which we do offer in each of our domains of the Department of Cardiothoracic, Transplantation and Vascular Surgery.
Together with experts of other, also non-surgical fields, in weekly held conferences we develop optimal and personalized therapy concepts for you. Thereby the surgery may sometimes also play a minor role.
