Origin: Kn, Göttingen, in 1949 from rats of unknown origin, with selection of brother-sister pairs for the red-eyed, yellow, black-hooded genotype. To Han in 1957 at F16. To Gottschewski in 1964, back to Han in 1968, to Ztm 1994.

 

Reproduction: Moderate reproductive performance; average number weaned per female per week 0.69.

 

Characteristics: Concordant with the pigmentation defect (red-eyed dilution) exhibits a platelet storage pool disease. Animals develop a mild from of hemorrhagic diathesis, which increases with age and injuries.The genetic maker profile described by Bender et al. (1).
