Research Areas and Working Groups

There are four major integrated areas of research conducted at the MHH in Collaborative Research Centres (SFBs), Research Training Groups (GKs) and Research Groups; all are financed by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG). Furthermore, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) provides funding for one Competence Centre and for three Networks of Competence at the MHH.

These four main areas are:

• Infection, immunity and inflammation research

• Transplant and stem cell research

• Biomedical technology and implant research

• Public health and healthcare systems research.

Other interdisciplinary working groups are concerned with a wide variety of human health issues.
